Rinse FM Acquires Kool London Radio

Rinse FM has officially acquired Kool London Radio, one of London’s most famous pirate stations. The deal brings the legendary jungle and drum’n’ bass platform back to life under its original name, Kool FM.

Kool London, first launched in the early 1990s, was a home for jungle and drum & bass culture. For years, it gave underground artists a voice and built a strong community around dance music. The station had been off air since January 1, but now, thanks to Rinse FM, it is returning with a fresh lineup of DJs and MCs, which will be announced soon.

Alongside the radio relaunch, Kool’s well-known party series Jungle Fever will also be taken over and revived by Rinse FM, keeping the energy of London’s underground scene alive.

Rinse FM’s founder, Geeneus, shared his excitement in a Facebook post. He explained how Kool FM inspired him to start Rinse FM in the first place:

“Around the age of 12 years old, I was introduced to pirate radio by some of my older cousins. Not long after, I stumbled upon Kool FM 94.5, and it soon became an obsession. Starting Rinse for me was based on the passion and love I had for Kool FM.”

After more than 30 years of hard work, Kool’s original owners, Eastman and Suzy G, have passed the station into the hands of Rinse. Geeneus added, “It is beyond a privilege, and I hope to do it justice. Thank you to Kool, Eastman, and Suzy for trusting me with this.

With this move, Rinse FM is not only keeping Kool FM’s legacy alive but also giving new energy to London’s jungle and drum & bass scene.
