The Afro-Dutch artist finishes a busy year in style with two seamless originals and two thought-out remixes
Cincity has released her debut EP, 'Kijiji', via Floyd Lavine's Afrikan Tales - a label committed to showcasing artists from the African continent and the diaspora.

The record lands following a busy 2022 for the Afro-Dutch artist. She played festivals including Awakenings, Tomorrowland and Germany's Fusion Festival, played for Black Coffee in London and teamed up with Seth Troxler for a b2b at Ibiza's Pikes.

'Kijiji' is comprised of two originals - an EP namesake and 'Lately', plus two remixes from William Djoko and Enoo Napa of 'Lately'. Djoko's take is a leftfield, futuristic cut whilst Napa adds lower end stabs and a helping of strings to showcase his signature style.

EP lead track 'Kijiji' sees the producer link up with South African artists TorQue MuziQ, ZIDDO & B'utiza to create an Afro-fusion affair, dubbed "ripe for soundtracking sunset and sunrise moments".

“Kijiji means village, but I would describe it as the Village of Love. My kind of Utopia where people of all colours and backgrounds live together. A place where only Love can save humanity. In the track, B’utiza explains how Love is not an easy thing, but we need to hold on to it. As it’s everything we’ve got," shares Cincity.

The artist has been on the radar of Afrikan Tales founder, Floyd Lavine, for four years now since she invited him to play her event in Rotterdam. "From the first moment we clicked," he explains. "I told her when she starts to produce, she needs to send me something as I love her taste in music. I'm so happy to have the opportunity to release her debut EP on Afrikan Tales."
